If you've ever had to layout any sort of user interface or done any wireframing, and you haven't tried Balsamiq, you're missing out! (Pronounced just like the vinegar - bal·sam·ic /bôlˈsamik/) I was made aware of this software a number of years ago, but it wasn't until earlier this year when I needed to layout some Salesforce.com pages at work for business stakeholders that I learned just how powerful and easy the software is, and how much it adds to my ability to communicate with stakeholders. There are Mac, PC, and browser-based versions available. (And I'm getting no compensation for talking about them, just another "cool stuff found" tool.)
My one biggest beef was that the default Balsamiq was missing some of the native SFDC UI elements. I found this set of a few elements online, but wanted an entire page layout ready to go, so I created one that I can use over and over again. I hope you enjoy the West Wing references. Feel free to download and use this Salesforce Browser template that includes both edit and view modes.
